Enter to WIN | Lacing Tree with Apple & Pear | Just post a comment!

*Early Post | I'll be out of town on Monday, so you get 3 extra days to enter!*

REVIEW | Last month I had the opportunity to review this amazing little toy! I was so impressed by the quality of the craftsmanship and the presentation! It quickly arrived in a lovely little linen bag and immediately both of my kids loved it!  My 1yr old loved holding the apple and pear and my 3 year old was so excited to "Sew with Mommy"!  This is seriously a must-have for any Mama's diaper bag or for car rides! It's small enough so the kids can hold onto it and it will fit in a purse, but interesting enough to last longer than 30 seconds of entertainment!  Love this!

BUY | Check out Linen Kids website, upon registering on their website you get 3 FREE Euro (about $4 USD) transferred into your account that you can spend on anything! They also have an Etsy Shop and a Fan Page on Facebook!  They have lots of other toys, clothes & accessories including some great little bunny puzzles for Easter!  Here is another favorite of mine too!

NurseryLove Photography

A dear friend of mine came over today for some maternity photos with her sweet 2 year old daughter.  Got me thinking that I might get back into photography, I sure love seeing beautiful pregnant mamas and precious newborn babies all the time, and getting paid for it too, what could be better!  I need to get my baby fill somewhere, my youngest is almost 1 1/2!  Time flies when you're having kids.

Tuesday Tutorial | Naptime Door Hanger

Supplies: ModPodge, wooden door hanger, sponge brush, paper scraps, printer, scissors, & sand paper.

1. Trace your door hanger onto the papers that you want to use and cut out the pieces.
2. Print whatever wording you would like on your hanger.
3. Paint the whole wooden hanger with ModPodge and place your pieces where you want them.  If you want any pieces on top of the paper (like the hearts & wording I have on mine, paint the back of your pieces and apply them where you want them.  After you have your pieces on, press firmly to remove all bubbles & let dry for 20 minutes.
4.  Sand the edges with an outward stroke so the paper does not tear off and use your hanger!  If your door is not sheltered, you may also want to paint a couple layers of ModPodge on top of your finished hanger for added durability, let dry between each coat.

If you like this, but don't want to make it, you can purchase a custom one Here in my shop!

Link me to your crafts this week! I'd love to see what you are up to:

FREE GIVEAWAY & Review | Hemp Soap Feb 22nd - 26th

Enter to WIN | Hemp Soap or Linen & Body Mist | Just post a comment!

REVIEW | I just got this amazing Organic Hemp Seed Oil Soap from Seattle Mermaid!  I could practically smell it from the mailbox, it is so aromatic!  I told them that I would like to try a berry scent (they have 25 scents to choose from) and they hit the nail right on the head with the Acai Berry scent, it's now my new favorite soap!  It's like having a candle, air freshener, soap and moisterizer all in one because it smells fantastic and works great, my hands are never dried out after washing.  What Mom doesn't need a little love for her hands, and at only $6 a soap, it's a steal!  I have been using it for over a month and it still smells amazing in my bathroom (and hallway for that matter)!  So when you buy, choose a scent you love and you won't be disapointed!

Recipe | A {Hearty} Breakfast

My Dad has had 3 heart attacks, after the third one he started going to a great local heart doctor, he gave my Dad an amazing cookbook he'd been working on that has some fabulous recipes for heart healthy eating, and every one that I have tried has been fantastic.  You can pick one up for yourself on his website.  This is now our new favorite healthy pancake recipe:

Oatmeal Pancakes
(Makes about 20 - 5" pancakes)

1 cup cold milk
1cup hot water
1/2 honey
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3 cups old-fashioned oats
4 beaten eggs
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder

1. Combine milk, water, honey, oil, oats, and beaten eggs & set aside
2. Combine flour, salt and baking powder, then whisk into above mixture until smooth.
3. Cook pancakes on hot griddle and flip after bubbles form, but before they pop.
Serve your amazing heart healthy pancakes!

*Disclaimer - you may not be a huge fan of these if you aren't already a healthy eater, because they are nothing like the fluffy rubbery white ones you get at your local Mama's Diner.

Tuesday Tutorial | Nursery Banner

Tuesday Tutorial | {Free} Nursery Banner

While at an Estate Sale this weekend, I scored an awesome vintage pillow case, a few packages of old Bias Tape, and some Thread all in the free box!  If you aren't quite as lucky, you can still pick up all the same supplies at your local Goodwill for about $2.

Supplies: Scissors, Pillow Case, Bias Tape, Thread & Cardboard
1. Trace bowl, cut out circle, cut in half with one side slightly larger than the other.
2. Use larger half circle as a template for your banner pieces, trace onto fabric, cut out & pin with the finished side facing in.
3. Sew around half moon, leaving the straight side opened & turn inside out.
4. Now is when you will use your small cardboard cutout.  Cut around the moon in about a 1/4 inch to match the sewn banners.  Stick the cardboard into the banners so push out into shape, then iron with cardboard still inside.
5. Tuck the banners into the bias tape and sew with the wide side on the front of the banner.
6. Sew the small part of the bias tape onto the back.
7.  I like to sew through the bias tape one more time with a slight wave for a sloppy handmade look (not pictured), I like it when the sewing is not perfect, but you can just leave it as is and hang it now if you want!

If you like these, but don't want to make them, I got the idea here, and yes, theirs are much nicer than mine so don't look too close, I did this all during naptime you know!

Link me to your crafts this week! I'd love to see what you are up to:

Thrifting | #2

I had a date with my Mom this morning and when we arrived, she had these adorable little "sushi" rolls made up for my kiddos to snack on!  I just loved the idea so I thought I'd share it with you all!  HERE is a link to some that Rachael Ray has done, however, my Mom used a whole wheat tortilla instead of bread, the kids loved them, and they weren't messy!

On my way home from my Moms, I stopped to check on a thrift store I haven't been to in a while  (despite a closing in naptime window for the kids).  After a quick stop, as I was about to leave, I spotted this little "tea" canister on the top shelf.  It must have been fate because it goes perfectly with my new Cookie Jar!  I also scored two shirts for my 1 year old and some shoes for my 3 year old.  Total: $4.50

Thrifting | #1

Yes, it's true that I have gotten most everything that we own at Garage Sales. I'm not shy about it though, why spend $50 on something you can get for $3!  Alas, in the winter season, they are nowhere to be found, so I get my fix at local thrift stores.  Here are my two favorite items that I scored yesterday for a grand total of $4.98.  I just love my new recipe cards that I plan to write my favorite concoctions on, including one of my favorites, Chewy Molasses Cookie I double the recipe every time because we love them so much, the ingredients are on the counter right now waiting for me.  And what better place to put my fresh baked cookies, than this lovely air tight cookie jar.  Don't lie, your jealous.  It's okay.

Tuesday Tutorial | Heart Garland for Valentine's Day

Supplies: Thread, Scissors & Scrap Paper
1. Cut out hearts with scrap papers.
2. Start sewing just as if the paper were fabric, leaving a bit of thread at the beginning so you can tie a loop for hanging. No need to backstitch, the paper seems to hold the stitch well.  If you want a gap between the hearts, as shown in the top right photo, then you will need to hold onto the hearts as you sew them and pull them through, then feed in the next heart after there is about a 1/2 inch between.  If you want them overlapped as shown in bottom right photo, just slowly feed the hearts in as you sew without pulling them though.
3. Sew as many as you like, then when you are done, again, leave a little extra thread for hanging, and start to decorate! Enjoy!
